The Tall Ships Races are the biggest international ocean races for Sail Training- ships. Everything about this annual event is dedicated to the trainees. The event is intended to help people under the age of 25 become familiar with the sea and sailing of traditional ships. Half of the crew is therefore between the ages 15 and 25.
The Tall Ships Races always consists of two or three stages in which several European ports/harbours are involved. The appearance and operational abilities of the ships are spectacular and resemble and fit into the best traditions of Dutch shipping. The historic harbour of Harlingen is the perfect place to welcome the mighty ships.
